Black Painted Porcelain Light Holder

Loving the simple idea of painting basic porcelain light sockets black and pairing them with extra large clear (Edison) bulbs. This idea was used at the very hip Morrison Hair Salon in Laguna Beach .

How I fell in love with a fish

"Chef Dan Barber squares off with a dilemma facing many chefs today: how to keep fish on the menu. With impeccable research and deadpan humor, he chronicles his pursuit of a sustainable fish he could love, and the foodie's honeymoon he's enjoyed since discovering an outrageously delicious fish raised using a revolutionary farming method in Spain."

Bunker Roy - Barefoot College

Everytime I watch this TED talk by Bunker Roy I reconnect to my hope/faith in humanity and the planet. I will start sharing TED talks more often .... "ideas worth spreading" ???? You've got that right!

"Established in 1972, the Barefoot College is a non-government organization that has been providing basic services and solutions to problems in rural communities, with the objective of making them self-sufficient and sustainable. These ‘Barefoot solutions’ can be broadly categorized into solar energy, water, education, health care, rural handicrafts, people’s action, communication, women’s empowerment and wasteland development.

The College believes that for any rural development activity to be successful and sustainable, it must be based in the village as well as managed and owned by those whom it serves. Therefore, all Barefoot initiatives whether social, political or economic, are planned and implemented by a network of rural men and women who are known as ‘Barefoot Professionals’."
